Your Reps and the Irish Committee wish to thank you for taking the time to vote in the industrial action and strike ballots. Your overwhelming support for the ICTU 10 point plan and for industrial action shows that you are not prepared to allow Employers and the Government to renege on commitments within the Transitional Agreement. We need a fair way out of this crisis. Working people should not be paying the price for the unfettered greed of rich bankers!
The Irish Committee has therefore decided that the following action should take place on the 30th March 2009:
We understand that your decision to vote for industrial action is not one that you have taken lightly. However, as this crisis continues to deepen, we may need to ask you to step up the action. Regretfully, this may mean having to seek your support for strike action in the near future, if absolutely necessary.
Can I personally thank you once again for voting in these extremely important ballots. In these difficult times we need to stick together and show solidarity with each other.
