4 November 2009: The Irish Biennial Conference 2009 had been convened for the weekend of 28th/29th November 2009. Motions were to be submitted by 12th October and delegates names to be submitted by 30th October 2009.
Seven Motions had been received by the due date and only two Branches have submitted the names of three delegates in total.
Clearly the Associations policies in Ireland cannot be decided upon by only three people. Therefore, after consultation with the President and the Executive Committee member for Ireland, it has been decided that the Irish Biennial Conference be cancelled and the seven Motions received will be considered by the Irish Committee.
In place of the Biennial Conference, a Weekend School has been arranged for the weekend of 28th and 29th November in Dublin. The theme for this event is "Fighting Cuts". Please contact Jim Kavanagh kavanaghj@tssa.org.uk or Patrick McCusker mccuskerp@tssa.org.uk or Jon Clark clarkj@tssa.org.uk to book places on this course.
